On to Round 2

Pens Shake Hands with Rangers (from our seats)
Well, that was easy. Really almost too easy. The Rangers King Henrik (the Rangers' goalie) was below average-especially for him. But, the Penguins were overwhelming. Really, the Pens played 6 bad minutes of hockey in 5 games. The rest of the series was all Penguins with just exceptions.

Bring on the Capitals! This will be a little bit more fun than normal for us since or son Randy lives 3 blocks from the Verizon Center where the Caps play their home games.

Pretty Grey on April 24 at Game 5
The Capitals are very good and should be favored. But, Pittsburgh has played them well the last several games. It should be really entertaining.

Thanks to your support, we stand in FIRST PLACE after round 1 of the Beard-A-Thon. $1,350 for the Lemieux Foundation (from all of you) so far. Molly and I will donate $1,350 to the Children's Home of Pittsburgh too to match your generosity.

Remember, we donate any prize we win to South Hills YMCA Swim Team (except the free hair cuts that is) so the team can raffle off the prize. If we keep it up, we'll be able to donate one of the fantastic prizes we receive from finishing in the top 3.

Thanks again everyone. We'll be back with more after the next series!

2016 Beard A Thon

The 2016 Penguins playoff run starts in a few days. We have a guarded optimism going into this year's playoff run. It could be a lot of fun watching the Pens this year.

Again this year, we are participating in the Penguins Beard A Thon to raise money for the Mario Lemieux Foundation. This charity supports many great causes including The Children's Home of Pittsburgh.

The Children’s Home is one of our favorite charities because I was adopted from there (as was my brother and sister). If it weren’t for the Children’s Home, I simply wouldn’t have my family and my wonderful parents. And, the Children’s Home continues to do great work today-decades after I left there as a baby.

Anyway, growing my beard until the Penguins win the Stanley Cup (or are knocked out of the playoffs) is the continuation of a long hockey tradition. So, this a true Win-Win. We support the Pens and we support two great causes.

Please follow this link to my profile: CLICK HERE . Vote for my beard (I'll have a photo up Wednesday after the last shave for a long while).

Molly and I will match 100% of the donations we receive with a 100% matching donation directly to The Children's Home of Pittsburgh. So, we'll match your donation to the Lemieux Foundation with a donation to The Children's Home of Pittsburgh.
Please don’t feel pressure to donate. But, if you like a good story; a good cause; and a 1 for 1 match; then please join us. Also feel free to tell your friends. We’ll seriously match it all. It is that important to us.

Thanks for your support.
